To celebrate my daughter's 1st Reconciliation, we went to a Mother/Daughter retreat together. There we were fortunate to celebrate Mass and Adoration with Father Antoine Thomas. He began to spread Children's Adoration through out the US. and abroad. He has a great website for more information for starting your own Children's Adoration in your parish at www.childrenofhope.org.
It is so beautiful to participate in adoration with children. They are so ready to know Jesus and love Him in the Blessed Sacrament. Children as young as 5 (sometimes younger) should be encouraged to see Jesus and be with Him. My own daughters in a just a few times are so much more disposed to understanding what is happening during the Consecration during Mass.
Children's Adoration is a gift. A gift to Jesus who wants and longs for contact with these children. A gift to us a parents whose own Faith is lifted and renewed as we see the innocent love these children develop with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. A gift to our children, who begin their own relationship and love for Jesus and appreciation for Communion.
If you don't currently have children's adoration, just bring your children with you; for a half hour or 15 minutes or even just 5. None of you will ever regret it...especially Jesus!!!!
